BT’s proposals for the regeneration of Adastral Park and surrounding land will achieve the highest standards of sustainability. The environment is important and it is something that matters to BT.

BT’s proposals will create an integrated, 21st Century community, with jobs and homes side-by-side to encourage more sustainable lifestyles and a positive relationship with the local environment.  The proposals submitted by BT include:

• A energy centre to provide renewable heat and power, reducing dependency on the national grid and providing options for renewable energy
• Plans for a large park at the centre of the new community on land currently used for quarrying and minerals extraction – which will act as a focal point for the new community following the precedent set at Martlesham Heath
• The incorporation of heathland within the central park
• Preservation and extension of woodland areas on and surrounding the site
• New woodland / ecology corridors running from north to south and from east to west throughout the site
